Radio is a passion of mine, and has been for most of my life.  Recalling the clear powerhouse stations of the 60s, I was able to listen to stations like WBZ in Boston from my transplanted home in Colorado Springs.  WMEX/Boston was another station that I listened to for the roots of rock when I was in elementary school in Massachusetts.  When I moved back to the New England area, 68/WRKO ruled the AM airwaves in the late 60s and early 70s.

It's a shame that both the music and the radio stations of today don't echo the innocent voice of the 50s and 60s love songs, the socially conscious songs of the late 60s and early 70s, and the experimentation with convention of the 70s and early 80s.   Radio today is likely to be made up of a group of stations with a common troupe of radio personalities that announce for many stations during the day, with no local talent or representation.

Some of the recordsI use my extensive record and cd collection to bring you all of the music on the Hits of Yesterday.  Over 1000 LP albums, 500 45 RPM records, and 600 cds span the time from the late 40s through the 90s.

Enjoy the Hits of Yesterday, and let me know what you think!  Hit the Play button on the left, and have fun!
