The Hits of Yesterday is broadcast live via a broadcast server located in Connecticut, USA. 

• Music is digitized into 96kbps, 44.1khz MP3pro format from CDs, tapes, LPs and 45s using Adobe Audition and MusicMatch Jukebox.
• Live shows are mixed directly to the Shoutcast interface on the broadcast server.
• The Live interface consists of:
•    Mackie 1402VLZ mixer
•    Stanton twin CD player
•    Alesis 3630 Compressor/Limiter
•    BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer
•    Nady 32 band equalizer
•    Alesis Nanoverb
•    Sony laptop
•    BSI WaveCart, Stinger software
• Recording analog sources is done using:
•    Technics SL-1400 turntable with Grado cartridge
•     Shure M64A Stereo Preamp
•     Tascam US-428 USB Audio Controller
•     Adobe Audition multi-track recording software
•     Custom-built Pentium 4 2.5ghz system with 160gb drive space
• The broadcast server is:
•     A custom-designed Pentium IV system, with an 2.8mhz processor and 60gb hard drive.  
•     The audio connection is a Turtle Beach Tropez with a custom-designed balanced preamp input.
•     Software is Winamp 2.92, Shoutcast 1.81, SAM MP3pro encoder, Studio 365 Live 2.2, Winamp Radio Scheduler
• Server is connected to a broadband interface through a 100mbps Ethernet connnection.
• Live365 is the hosting provider, who takes the upstream feed from the broadcast server and retransmits it to internet listeners.
• The Hits of Yesterday runs from Winamp and the scheduler 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Over 3000 files, including music, station identification jingles, spots (public affairs commercials, program elements from PAMS, and promotional spots are stored on the server, resulting in an almost 130 hour rotation.
• The scheduler also runs in special programs, like the "It's 1965 Again" year spotlight series and the Mainstream jazz program.
• The master collection of music totals over 500 45 RPM records; 1000 LP albums, and over 600 CDs.
